Fire Science/EMT is a two year
program with the first year concentrating on the 240 hour paid
fire fighting training. The second year of the program is the
120 hour EMT training. Upon completion of each course, the
students will be eligible to take the certification tests in
both fields if students meet all requirements mandated for
certification testing. The students must take all their academic
classes at GlenOak High School because of the fire training
section of the program being taught at the fire facility at
Stark State. There may be certain physical and medical
requirements for admission to this program

CRIMINAL SCIENCE –
Timken Senior High School
The Criminal Science, Tech Prep
program proposed by the Services Academy of Timken High School,
Canton city Schools, requires rigorous academic preparations to
insure all students have the appropriate foundation in Public
Safety and Criminal Science to succeed at the secondary and post
secondary level. As national disasters and catastrophes
continue, the national must mobilize a trained criminal science
force to help contain and suppress criminal activity. This
program offering, at Timken High School, has the potential to
lead the national at the high school level and se the stage for
filling this void.
Topics will include: Computer
Crime, Criminal Justice System, Juvenile Justice, Terrorism,
Cultural Diversity, Communication, Professional Development,
Risk Assessment/Critical Incident, forensic Science and
Technology Applications to Crime, Stress/Physical
Fitness/Nutrition, Ethics, Enforcement Techniques and Behavioral
Science.
