AUTO BODY TECHNOLOGY The Auto Body Technology program is designed to provide students with the opportunity to develop skills in all phases and types of auto body collision and repair. Students will receive instruction in welding, metal forming, frame and body straightening, paint preparation, and painting. In the advanced class (Auto Body II) students will go in depth with skills including; frame straightening, glass replacement, plastic, aluminum and fiberglass panel repair, custom painting, and other aspects of advanced auto body repair. Students will receive laboratory and classroom instruction. Students who have demonstrated developed skills and have their instructor’s approval may be placed in an early placement workstation under the supervision of a highly trained supervisor during the second semester. AUTOMOTIVE COLLISION TECHNOLOGY Automotive Body I Description: Juniors will be taught basic entry-level skills as outlined by the National Automotive Technicians Education Foundation, which includes painting, and refinishing, non-structural analysis and damage repair, damage analysis and estimating. Students will be taught the trade using current material from I-car (Inter Industry Conference on Automotive Collision Repair). Not only does the collision repair industry offer outstanding opportunities, it also offers a career that allows you to immediately see the results of your efforts, while taking pride in your work, on each and every job. Automotive Body II Description: This program builds on the skills learned the first year in order to move the student to the apprentice level. Auto Body II students will be expected to work more independently and show strong work habits. Students that demonstrate the ability to do the work and have excellent attendance will be recommended for the early placement program, where the student will continue his education working under a master technician. AUTOMOTIVE COLLISION TECHNOLOGY This program is designed to enhance and equip students with basic entry-level skills and familiarize them with advanced repair procedures and equipment. The program emphasizes all phases of auto collision repair, including: welding, body and frame alignment, fiberglass and plastic repair, auto refinishing, paint/airbrush techniques and shop safety. AUTOMOTIVE SERVICES TECHNOLOGY This is an Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certified, two-year program which includes lab and related technology in Auto Services. In this program students learn to maintain, diagnose, and service automobiles. Students will also become familiar with brake and electrical systems, suspensions, and alignments.
