Objective: The Automotive Technology Tech Prep program at
Alliance High School will prepare students to be high tech
automotive engineering technicians, move into advanced training
within the industry, or lead to an associate degree in the
automotive technology field.
Description: In the junior year, areas of instruction
will include: shop safety, basic electrical, cooling and fuel
systems, engine overhaul, minor tune up, front and rear
suspensions, and general shop maintenance. Safety and the proper
use of all shop equipment and hand tools will be emphasized
Automotive Technology II

Prerequisites: Successful completion of Auto Mechanics I
Description: In the senior year, students will expand their
knowledge in the following areas: four wheel alignment, tune up
of standard and electronic ignition systems, brakes,
lubrication, computerized engine analysis, air conditioning,
vehicle drivability and shop management.

The Automotive Technologies Tech
Prep program at Canton South High School is a two-year course of
study for students interested in pursuing a career in the
automotive service and repair industry as a mechanical repair
technician, collision repair technician, move into a related
career path, or can lead to an associate degree in the
automotive technology field. The Automotive Technologies Tech
Prep Program will introduce students to both collision and
repair trade areas and will incorporate a math component. Senior
students will learn more advanced skills, will have an
incorporated English component, and will have the opportunity
for Early Placement. The curriculum reflects the increased
mechanical skills that collision repair technicians need to work
on todays sophisticated vehicles. The program is A.S.E. and
N.A.T.E.F. certified, and is one of very few AYES certified
Programs in the state of Ohio.

The Automotive Engineering Tech
Prep program at Jackson High School will prepare students to be
high tech automotive engineering technicians, move into advanced
training within the industry, or can lead to an associate degree
in the automotive technology field. The automotive engineering
Tech Prep program will have integrated math in the junior year
and integrated English in the senior year. The program is also
A.S.E. certified in: engine repair, manual drive train and
axles, suspension and steering, brakes, electrical systems,
engine performance, heating and air-conditioning.

The Automotive Tech Prep program,
housed at Timken High School, prepares students to be high tech
automotive engineering technicians. Job opportunities and career
options in the automotive service industry are growing as
rapidly as the amount of new technology found in today's
vehicles. This program provides students with the skills to
become professionally competent in automotive diagnostic
procedures and engine performance operation and repair. Students
learn to become problem solvers through application of enhanced
academics and specifically designed experiences.
