College Tech Prep Award: The Exemplary Worksite Learning Award, established in 1994 by NTPN (National College Tech Prep Network) and sponsored by Catepillar Inc., recognizes consortia that have established successful worksite learning experiences for students. The 1999 recipients were judged by the NTPN Advisory Board in the areas of program overview, professional development and experiences, business involvement and results. The Stark County College Tech Prep Consortium (Med Tech Program - Perry High School/ Massillon Community Hospital) was recognized at the NTPN Membership Luncheon in Pittsburgh, PA on October 8, 1999. Ohio's Best Practice Award
- 1995 (All Stark County Public School Districts, Stark State College of Technology, Business/Industry/Labor) for its selection as one of the 1995 Ohio's BEST Practices by Ohio's BEST - Building Excellent Schools for Today and the 21st Century - in recognition of its efforts to develop creative solutions to education challenges, and its commitment to improve education opportunities and results for every child in Ohio.

Pro Football Hall of Fame Grand Parade 19 students and 9 teachers from various Stark County College Tech Prep programs took part in the Canton Regional Chamber of Commerce 1997 Pro Football Hall of Fame Grand Parade as helium balloon handlers. Participation in this activity was made possible by generous donations from Steering Committee Members. It was a unique experience and the collaboration to promote College Tech Prep was an enjoyable and successful event. |
